Revolut Launches EURR, a Euro-Backed Stablecoin, on Polygon

The fintech's first stablecoin is built to hold a value of exactly €1.00, and it's live on Polygon from day one

tl;dr

  • Revolut has started rolling out EURR, its first stablecoin, to eligible customers in Denmark, Poland, and Portugal, with more of the European Economic Area to follow later this year.
  • EURR is designed to hold a value of exactly €1.00 and can be redeemed at par.
  • It launches live on two networks, Polygon and Ethereum

Revolut, the global fintech with more than 80 million customers and over 16 million crypto users, has started rolling out EURR to a first group of customers. Revolut plans to expand across the rest of the European Economic Area later this year. From launch, EURR runs on two networks: Ethereum and Polygon.

What is EURR?

EURR is a euro-denominated token built to track €1.00 one to one, redeemable at par through its regulated issuer under the EU’s MiCA rules. Customers can hold it, spend it through the Revolut app and Revolut X, and move it to outside wallets as liquidity opens up. It’s Revolut’s first stablecoin, and the company has said tokens tied to other currencies are already in the works through their own separate regulatory paths.

Why Revolut is launching a euro stablecoin now

Stablecoins have mostly meant dollars. Dollar tokens still make up close to all of the roughly $300 billion stablecoin market, and for Revolut’s own customers, most of whom earn, save, and spend in euros, that’s meant taking on dollar exposure just to hold value onchain.

EURR removes that step. Europe’s rules have matured, too: MiCA gave euro stablecoins a defined path to compliance, and euro-denominated supply has grown quickly since. The broader shift toward paying with stablecoins is picking up speed as well. One forecast puts global stablecoin card spending on track to quadruple to $50 billion a year by 2028. A compliant, euro-native token removes one of the last real reasons for Revolut’s customers to sit out.

An extension of Revolut’s Polygon integration

EURR isn’t Revolut’s first stablecoin move on Polygon. Revolut customers already send and receive USDC and USDT over Polygon, stake and trade POL, and on-ramp straight from their bank accounts. That integration crossed more than $1.2 billion by March 2026, with Polygon standing out among Revolut’s supported chains for low transaction costs. We’ve built out non-USD stablecoin support broadly enough that EURR is landing on a network already carrying dozens of other local-currency tokens, euro included.

What’s next

Revolut says wider EEA availability and additional currency-denominated stablecoins are coming later this year, each through its own regulatory process. For now, EURR’s rollout is small and deliberate: a phased test with a limited group of customers before it scales.
